Short-handed Marietta women swept by host Heidelberg, 9-0
Pioneers visit Mount Union on Tuesday

Apr. 16, 2007
TIFFIN, Ohio — The Marietta College women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 road loss to Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) rival Heidelberg Monday (Apr. 16) afternoon.

The Lady Pioneers (2-7, 1-6 OAC) were forced to adjust their lineup against the Student Princes (5-7, 2-4 OAC) because Amanda Carraher (Hilliard/Davidson), reigning OAC Player of the Week, could not make the trip. As a result, each Marietta woman had to play up a higher slot.

Sophomore Britanny Saunier (Delaware/Rutherford B. Hayes) was the closest to victory, as she fell in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.

Marietta is back in action Tuesday (Apr. 17). The Pioneers will travel to Alliance to take on Mount Union at 3:30 p.m.
