Women's tennis falls 8-1 to Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio - The Lady Pioneers tennis team ran into a read hot Mount Union squad Wednesday (Apr. 6), resulting in an 8-1 victory for the Purple Raiders. The win was Mount Union's (13-1, 3-1 OAC) school-record 13th of the year, while Marietta fell to 1-6 overall, 0-4 OAC.

Freshman Elizabeth Smith (Vienna, WV/Parkersburg Catholic) was the lone winner for the Lady Pioneers, as she took a point in second singles with a 7-5, 6-4 victory.

Marietta will return to action Saturday (Apr. 9) when it travels to Berea to take on Baldwin-Wallace at 1 p.m.
