Marietta's Faulkner named OAC Pitcher of the Week
Junior no-hit Heidelberg on Saturday

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) office released its weekly awards for the week ending on April 20, and Marietta College junior softball standout Erin Faulkner (Wheelersburg) was named OAC Pitcher of the Week.
Faulkner went 2-1 with a 0.93 earned run average in three appearances during the week. She allowed four runs (two earned) on 11 hits with three walks and 17 strikeouts. Faulkner, who began the week with a complete-game victory over Capital University, capped off the seven-day stretch by throwing a no-hitter at Heidelberg College. The no-hitter was the first of her career.
On the year, Faulkner (11-6) has thrown 114 2/3 innings. In 21 appearances, she has allowed 122 hits, walked 34 and struck out 67 while posting a 2.62 ERA. Faulkner has also had success in the batter's box, where she is currently hitting .353 (24-for-68) with six doubles, four home runs and 18 RBI.
Marietta will look to keep pace for a spot in the upcoming four-team OAC Tournament when its takes on visiting Wilmington College Wednesday (April 23) afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
Note: The Sports Promotion class at Marietta has moved Community Softball Day to Wednesday. The event, which was originally slated for April 20, will include 700 free t-shirts, as well as free hotdogs, hamburgers and Pepsi products for all fans in attendance at Marietta Field.
