MARIETTA, Ohio - Three Pioneers will be representing Marietta College at the 2013 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships this weekend at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse.
Senior
Caleb Muller (Columbus/Bexley), junior
Ryan Lopez-Jordan (Beachwood/St. Peter Chanel) and freshman
Alex Allen (Charleston, W.Va./Capital) will all be searching for a national title.
“They're just consistent,” head coach George Evans said. “They've been consistent all year long.”
With a time of 30:14.42, Muller holds the school record in the 10,000-meter run. He is seeded 16th out of 20. This is his second time going to the Track National Championships.
Lopez-Jordan will be competing in the 110-meter hurdles and is seeded 7th out of 20 in the event. He holds the school record with a time of 14.45 seconds. This is his third trip to Nationals, twice in outdoor and once in indoor track.
Allen is seeded 21st out of 22 in the 100-meter dash and holds the school record for the event with a time of 12.10 seconds. This is her first time going to Outdoor Nationals but competed in the Indoor National Championships earlier this year.
“Ryan and Alex have been All-Americans every time they have gone to Nationals,” Evans said. “Caleb hasn't been one, but I'd like to see him get one of those trophies.”
The action starts Thursday May 23 and goes through Saturday May 25.
