GENEVA, N.Y. – For the second time in as many days, the No. 9 ranked Marietta College women's rowing team went head to head with No. 3 ranked William Smith College. Sunday (April 1) morning the two schools, along with the Rochester Institute of Technology, raced on Seneca Lake. [

In the 2,000-meter varsity 8+ race, William Smith crossed the line in 7:18.69 for the victory. Racing under choppy conditions, the race was tight through the first 1,400 meters, but the Herons were able to build a lead over the final 600 meters. Marietta finished second with a time of 7:28.25, while RIT was third (7:51.46).

The Pioneers defeated William Smith in the second varsity 8+ race. Marietta finished in 7:49.96 ahead of William Smith's novice boat (7:56.94) and second varsity shell (8:02.39). RIT placed fourth with a time of 8:09.55.
