Senior
Nikki Stone (Madison/Madison) wasted no time jumping on the national scene in the javelin throw as she took second place with a school record toss of 40.99m (134-06) in her fourth attempt. The performance was a NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
Junior
Mike Pankowski (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills), a 2010 All-American in the javelin throw, took eighth in his event by posting a top throw of 51.10m (167-08).
The men's 4x200m relay, which featured senior
Anthony Williams (Columbus/Bishop Hartley), junior
Ryan Householder (Frazeysburg/Tri-Valley), senior
Josh Bibb (Marietta/Marietta) and sophomore
Billy McCulloch (Nelsonville/York), combined to take fourth overall by crossing the line 1:29.64.
Senior
Stephanie Hammond (Toledo/Central Catholic) set a new personal record and placed sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 43.54m (142-10).
The two-day event will conclude Saturday (March 12).
