DBRC returns to regular hours of operation

MARIETTA, Ohio — The start of the 2010-11 school year Monday (Aug. 23) morning also signaled the return of normal hours of operation for Marietta College's Dyson Baudo Recreation Center. Within these hours of operation are special times for Recreation Activities, including the Climbing Wall, Wellness Classes and the Community Walker Program. In addition, a limited number of year-round community memberships are once again available for the 2010-201 academic year.

Hours of Operation
The DBRC will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. On Saturdays, the facility will open at 9 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. Hours are slightly adjusted on Sundays as the DBRC opens its doors at 12 p.m. and again closes at 10 p.m. Operating hours are subject to change for holidays and special programs.

Climbing Wall
The DBRC Climbing Wall will be available Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. On Fridays it opens again at 4 p.m. but closes at 7 p.m. In addition, the Climbing Wall is open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays. Operating hours are subject to change for holidays and special programs.

The Climbing Wall is located on the first floor of the DBRC inside the Weight Room. Any interested climber can access the wall during regular operating hours after completing a waiver form. Download the Climbing Wall Release of Liability (PDF).

Community Walkers
All community walkers are required to complete an application before using the facility. Please download the application (PDF) or request a copy at the Welcome Center.
 
The DBRC track will be closed for walking 4 to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday so the College's track team can practice. Also, please be aware that the track may be closed at other times due to special events.

If possible, the ideal times to walk are 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. To determine if the track is open at a specific time, please call the Welcome Desk at 740-376-4554.

Fall Wellness Classes
A complete schedule or wellness activities will once again be offered inside the DBRC during the 2010-11 school year. Classes are free for students, faculty and staff. Outside individuals can attend the activities for a $5 fee per class. No children under the age of 14 are permitted in class. Download Fall Schedule (PDF).

Community Membership Application
A limited number of year-round community memberships for the 2010-201 academic year (September 1, 2010 through August 31, 2011) are available. The cost is $500, or four payments of $125, and includes the use of all DBRC facilities and the option to bring two guests with each visit at no cost. (Additional guests will be charged a $5 fee.)
