AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Office released its Players of the Week Monday (Jan. 28) afternoon, and Marietta College sophomore standout
Kevin Knab (Lakewood, Lakewood) was named Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week.
Knab led the Pioneers (7-8, 4-5 OAC) to a pair of key OAC wins last week. He scored a game-high 17 points and added a team-high 7 boards in Marietta's 69-55 victory over Otterbein College. The post player then had a game-best 21 points while adding 6 rebounds in the Pioneers' 74-57 upset of first place #15 Wilmington College.
Knab, a 2009 All-OAC honorable mention selection, currently paces the Pioneers in both scoring (13.4 ppg) and rebounding (7.3 rpg). He entered the week ranked fourth among OAC players in rebounding while third in field goal percentage and fifth in free throw percentage. Knab is shooting 62.7% (74-of-118) from the field and 81.5% (53-of-65) from the free throw line. He also ranks third in blocks, averaging 1.20 this winter.
Marietta will look to extend its win streak to three games when the Pioneers take a break from OAC play to battle host Carnegie Mellon University Tuesday (Jan. 19) night at 7 p.m. The Tartans will be offering live statistics at
