Perkins named Academic All-OAC At-large in 2009

Senior Clint Perkins was named Academic All-OAC At-large in 2009.
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced the 2009 Men's At-Large Academic All-OAC winners Monday (May 18). Senior tennis player Clint Perkins (St. Marys, W.Va./St. Marys) (St. Marys, W.Va.) was among the student-athletes to earn the award.

The OAC faculty representatives selected the award winners. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average, be a key starter or key reserve and be in at least his second year of participation in the sport. The men at-large winners consist of student-athletes from the sports of golf, swimming, diving and tennis.

Early in his senior season, Perkins scored the match-winning point at sixth singles to help Marietta defeat Bethany (W.Va.) College 5-4. He went on to finish 2-6 at singles play.

The Pioneers finished the year 1-11 overall and 0-9 in the OAC.

Perkins majored in Petroleum Engineering and maintained a 3.74 grade point averaged into his final semester at Marietta.
