The four-year starter and letterman, earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) honorable mention, All-Region first team and All-America second team honors as a freshman third baseman in 1976. Nachreiner was a repeat selection on both the All-OAC and All-Region lists as a sophomore and earned his third straight All-OAC honorable mention as junior. He capped off his senior season with All-OAC first team, All-Region first team and All-America second team honors. During his time at Marietta, the Etta Express captured three OAC titles (1977-79) and two Mideast Regional crowns (1977-78).
