AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) office released its 2009 Academic All-OAC Women's Soccer Teams on Thursday (Nov. 19) morning, and senior forward
Christi Tims (Olmsted Township, Olmsted Falls) represented Marietta College with Academic All-OAC honors. In addition, sophomore defender
Marsha Hupp (Katy, Texas, Cinco Ranch) received Academic All-OAC honorable mention this season.
The OAC faculty athletic representatives selected the award winners. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 grade point average, be a starter or key reserve and be in at least her second year of participation in the sport.
Tims, a four-year letterman, finished her senior season with 3 goals in 17 games. In the classroom, the Early Childhood Education major carries a 3.68 grade point average. Tims, who also runs track, earned All-OAC in both the indoor 4x200m Relay and outdoor 4x400m Relay in 2009.
Hupp helped anchor the Pioneer defense and earned her second varsity letter in 2009. Off the field, Hupp maintains a 3.51 grade point average as a Petroleum Engineering major.
Marietta, under the direction of 10th-year Head Coach
Patrick Holguin, finished the year 5-11-1 overall. The young Pioneers went 2-6 in OAC play.
