AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) office released its 2009 All-OAC Women's Soccer Teams and Special Award Winners on Wednesday (Nov. 11) morning, and Marietta College had three student-athletes earned league recognition. Sophomore midfielder
Tessa Harlow (Whitehouse, Anthony Wayne) was named All-OAC second team, while senior goalkeeper
Jenna Freeman (Bay Village, Bay) and sophomore forward
Christina Tirpak (Galena, Olentangy) received All-OAC honorable mention.
Harlow provided leadership in the midfield for the Pioneers this season. The two-year letterman finished the year with 2 goals and 3 assists in 17 games.
Tirpak, also a two-year letterman, scored 2 goals and added a team-high 5 assists in her 17 games on the field.
Freeman provided veteran leadership between the posts after not playing in 2008. The two-year lettermen finished 4-8, made 88 saves and posted 1 shutout in 2009. The 2006 All-OAC second team selection finished with a 1.70 goals against average, giving up 20 goals in 1,061 minutes.
Marietta, under the direction of 10th-year Head Coach
Patrick Holguin, finished the year 5-11-1 overall. The young Pioneers went 2-6 in OAC play.
