| Marietta men's soccer wins at Heidelberg 1-0
Adedapo scores game-winner on free kick in 76th minute

TIFFIN, Ohio — The Marietta College men's soccer team entered Saturday (Oct. 20) afternoon's Ohio Athletic Conference match-up against host Heidelberg College with a must-win attitude. The Pioneers, who are currently on the outside looking in for a potential OAC Tournament berth, came through with a 1-0 victory.
The win improves Marietta's record to 6-7-2 overall and 2-4-1 in the OAC. Heidelberg falls to 8-8, 4-3 in league play.
The Student Princes out-shot the Pioneers 17-7 overall, and both teams had six shots on goal.
Sophomore Delè Adedapo (Gahanna/Bexley) took the biggest shot of the game in the 76th minute. The defender came up from the back to take a free kick following a foul and laced it over the keeper's head from 25-yards out for his third goal of the year.
Junior Steve Hagenau (Clearwater, Fla./Central Catholic) and the hard-working defense posted their fourth shutout of the fall. Hagenau made six saves in the win.
Marietta will continues it drive toward an OAC playoff berth with a home game against Wilmington College Wednesday (Oct. 24) afternoon at Marietta Field. The game will begin at 4 p.m.
