Game 4: Marietta 95, Grove City 85
MARIETTA, Ohio — Junior Most Valuable Player Isaiah Creasap nailed a tournament record eight three pointers to match a career high and pace Marietta College with 27 points in the Pioneers' 95-85 victory over Grove City (Pa.) College Sunday (Dec. 30) in the final game of the 37th annual Marietta Shrine Classic, sponsored by the Holiday Inn and Dixie Sporting Goods. The win improved Marietta's record to 4-7, while Grove City fell to 7-3. [Box Score]

The Pioneers shot a blistering 33-of-61 (.514) from the field, including 16-of-28 (.571) from long range, to go along with 13-of-23 (.565) from the line in the win. Their 16 three-point field goals set a new tournament record. Marietta, who turned the ball over on 10 occasions, out rebounded Grove City 37-27. The Wolverines shot 33-of-65 (.508) from the field but just 5-of-25 (.200) from deep while adding 14-of-18 (.778) from the line. Grove City gave the ball away five times.

Senior Adam Rockhold, who set a single game tournament record with 23 rebounds on Saturday, added 12 rebounds and seven points against Grove City to give him a tournament record 35 boards on the weekend. He joined Creasap on the All-Classic Team. Marietta also got solid outings from junior Daun Lutes, who had 15 points and 11 rebounds, freshman Jordan Cox, who hit four three pointers and scored 22 points, sophomore Jordan Johnson, who had 13 points, eight rebounds and eight assists and freshman Nathan Edick, who connected on 3-of-4 from deep to add 11 points.

Grove City was led by All-Classic honoree Ryan Gibson with 17 points and five assists. Andy O'Keefe, also an All-Classic recipient, added 15 points, while Joe McCoy and Ryan Gerber both added 12 points in the loss.

Marietta is back in action Saturday (Jan. 9) when it concludes a six-game home stand with a 7:30 p.m. match-up with rival Muskingum College.

Game 3: Waynesburg 91, Frostburg 79
MARIETTA, Ohio — Waynesburg (Pa,) University jumped out to a 22-point halftime lead and then held off a Frostburg State (Md.) University rally to win 91-79 Sunday (Dec. 30) afternoon in the third game of the 37th annual Marietta Shrine Classic, sponsored by the Holiday Inn and Dixie Sporting Goods. The victory improved the Yellow Jackets' record to 5-5, while the Bobcats fell to 2-9. [Box Score]

Waynesburg finished the day 30-of-60 (.500) from the floor, including 10-of-25 (.400) from deep, to go along with 21-of-34 (.618) from the line. The Yellow Jackets had 16 turnovers. Frostburg State shot 31-of-71 (.437) from the field but just 3-of-15 (.200) from deep. The Bobcats, who added 14-of-25 (.560) from the line, out rebounded the Yellow Jackets 46-36 and gave the ball away 21 times.

All-Classic honoree Tim Drakeley led Waynesburg with 28 points and six rebounds, while Josh Parisi added 25 points and eight rebounds. The Yellow Jackets also got help from Dan Happe and Jered Gamble; both finished with 11 points.

Brian Green, Frostburg's All-Classic selection, and Jade Belt led the Bobcats with 23 points each. Belt added 15 rebounds, while Green had seven assists. Juan Wansley came off the bench to contribute 20 points in the loss.

Saturday, Dec. 29
Game 2: Marietta 98, Waynesburg 85
MARIETTA, Ohio — Senior Adam Rockhold pulled down a career-high, tournament record and school-record tying 23 rebounds, and four Pioneers, including he, reached double figures to help the Marietta College men's basketball team defeat Waynesburg (Pa.) University, 98-85, Saturday (Dec. 29) night in the second game of the 37th annual Marietta Shrine Classic, sponsored by the Holiday Inn and Dixie Sporting Goods. The win improves the Pioneers' record to 3-7 and snaps a four-game losing streak. The Yellow Jackets fell to 4-5 on the year. [Box Score]

Marietta finished 36-of-69 (.522) from the floor, including 10-of-22 (.455) from beyond the arc. The Pioneers, who dominated the boards 51-32, added 16-of-22 (.727) from the line and turned the ball over 21 times. Undersized Waynesburg went 29-of-66 (.439) from the field, including 7-of-22 (.318) from deep, to go along with 20-of-33 (.606) from the charity stripe. The Yellow Jackets turned the ball over 32 times.

Junior Isaiah Creasap, who matched a tournament record by hitting all 10 of his free throw shots, paced Marietta with 23 points, 21 in the second half. Rockhold added 19 points, while freshman Nathan Edick drilled 5-of-7 from deep to contribute 15 points and freshman Jordan Cox scored 13 points and dished out a team-high five assists in the win.

Waynesburg was paced by Tim Drakeley and Josh Parisi with 23 and 21 points, respectively. Dan Happe added 12 points and Jarell Rodriguez had 10 in a losing effort.

Both teams are back in action on Sunday (Dec. 30) afternoon. Waynesburg takes on Frostburg States at 2 p.m., and Marietta battles Grove City at 4 p.m.

Game 1: Grove City 72, Frostburg State 53
MARIETTA, Ohio — Grove City (Pa.) College shot 13-of-24 (.542) from the floor in the second half to overcome a 25-24 halftime deficit and defeat Frostburg State (Md.) University, 72-53, Saturday (Dec. 29) evening in the opening game of the 37th annual Marietta Shrine Classic, sponsored by the Holiday Inn and Dixie Sporting Goods. The win improved the Wolverines' record to 7-2, while the Bobcats fell to 2-8. [Box Score]

Grove City finished the evening 22-of-50 (.440) from the field, including 9-of-19 (.474) from long range, to go along with 19-of-24 (.792) from the free throw line. The Wolverines, who turned the ball over 11 times, out rebounded the Bobcats 37-29. Frostburg State shot 17-of-52 (.327) from the floor, including 7-of-22 (.318) from deep. The Bobcats added 12-of-24 (.500) from the line and gave the ball away 12 times in the loss.

Andy O'Keefe and Shawn Carr both scored 18 points to lead Grove City in scoring. Frostburg State was paced by Brian Green with 20 points, while Jade Belt added 10 in the loss.

Both teams are back in action on Sunday (Dec. 30) afternoon. Frostburg States takes on Waynesburg at 2 p.m., and Grove City battles Marietta at 4 p.m.
