Marietta drop OAC home game against John Carroll 93-65
Creasap scores game-high 21 in loss

MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College men's basketball team fell at home to John Carroll University 93-65 Saturday (Feb. 16) afternoon at Fenton Court. The loss drops the Pioneers' record to 6-17 overall and 2-14 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). John Carroll improves its record to 11-11 overall and 8-8 in the OAC.
Junior guard Isaiah Creasap (Wooster/Northwestern) led all scorers with 21 points. Senior Adam Rockhold (Olmsted Falls) scored 10 points and collected six rebounds. Freshman guard Nathan Edick (Westerville/Thomas Worthington) came off the bench to score 10 points in the loss.
Rudy Kirbus paced five double-digit scorers for the Blue Streaks as he scored 17 points. John Curran scored 13 points off the bench. Maurice Haynes scored points, while both Donte Ledwell and TJ DiSanto each scored 10 points. Terry Walsh scored nine points, dished out eight assists, and grabbed six rebounds.
The Blue Streaks began the game on a 9-0 run over the first 2:21 of the game. That run would set the pace for the afternoon, as the Pioneers never held a lead in the game. John Carroll's press gave Marietta’s backcourt fits all afternoon, causing 19 turnovers. That, coupled with the Blue Streaks hot shooting, spelled disaster early and often for the Pioneers. The Blue Streaks carried in a 19-point lead, 48-29, into the locker room at the half. Marietta could not manage to cut into the John Carroll lead, as the Blue Streaks would lead by as many as 30. The Blue Streaks cruised to the 93-65 victory on the road.
For the game, the Pioneers shot 24-of-52 (.462) from the field, 8-of-27 (.296) from behind the arc and 9-of-14 (.643) from the free throw line. John Carroll finished 35-of-57 (.614) from the field, 7-of-12 (.583) from three and 16-of-26 (.615) from the free throw line. The Blue Streaks held the edge on the glass, 34-25, and only committed 11 turnovers to Marietta's 19.
