TIFFIN, Ohio — The Marietta College men's basketball team dropped its latest Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) match-up to Heidelberg College, 93-66, Saturday (Feb. 9) afternoon. The loss drops the Pioneers' record to 6-15 overall and 2-12 in the OAC. Heidelberg improves to 16-5 overall and 10-4 in the OAC.

Junior Isaiah Creasap (Wooster/Northwestern) and freshman Nathan Edick (Westerville/Thomas Worthington) both scored 15 points for Marietta in the loss. Creasap also added five assists. Jordan Cox (West Union) added 12 points for the Pioneers. Adam Rockhold (Olmsted Falls) led the Pioneers in rebounding with seven boards.

Brian Schmidt led four double-digit scorers for the Student Princes, scoring 19 points. Shawn Shriver scored 16 points and collected five rebounds. Andrew Lemmon scored 15 points and collected 11 rebounds in the win. Chad Szalay added 14 points in the victory.

Marietta held an early three-point lead after a Creasap three put the Pioneers up 5-2. Lemmon came back with a three of his own diminishing the only lead the Pioneers would have for the afternoon. That three sparked a 14-0 run, which would prove to be insurmountable. The Student Princes never looked back as they took a 50-29 lead into the locker room at half. The second half proved to be much of the same, as Marietta could not get any closer than 23 points. Heidelberg would lead by as many as 36 and it went on to win, 93-66.

Marietta finished the game 25-of-57 (.439) from the field, 11-of-27 (.407) from behind the arc and 5-of-6 (.833) from the free throw line. Heidelberg finished the game 34-of-63 (.540) from the field, 11-of-23 (.478) from three and 14-of-20 (.700) from the free throw line. The Student Princes controlled the boards 40-26 and committed 13 turnovers to Marietta's 19.
