Pioneer football holds local youth clinic
Sept. 15, 2004
MARIETTA, Ohio - The Marietta College football team recently took a break from its busy schedule to put on an hour long football camp for the Warren youth league.
Approximately 100 children, grades 4-8, spent the afternoon working with current MC players. Kids rotated to different groups so they learned all positions and could interact with all of the players.
“We are happy to help Warren Youth Football as they have been a big supporter of the MC Football Program,” stated Pioneer offensive coordinator Curt Wiese.
The Pioneer players also thought that the clinic was something that they could not resist.
“It was a good experience to help out young children and a good way to give back to the local community," said senior linebacker Seth Noland. "Hopefully the experience will help them stay involved with football and sports in general.”
“I enjoyed seeing how the children react so positively to football at such a young age, mentioned junior defensive lineman Jason Price. "It was a lot of fun.”
The clinic was one of many activities the Pioneer football team takes part in over the course of the school year, as they continually try to stay involved with the youth in the Marietta community.
